JACKIE DEW
B.F.A. Dance Performance, A.D.A.P.T.
Jackie Dew is a dancer, choreographer, and instructor based in the Greater Toronto Area. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Chapman University (Orange, CA), where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was the recipient of the “Academic Excellence” award. Additionally, Jackie recently graduated from the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (A.D.A.P.T.) Teacher Training School, where she was recognized for achieving the highest grade point average within her graduating class. Jackie has taught in both Canada and the U.S. for several dance studios, and as a guest instructor within the Huntington Beach Union High School District. At the competitive level, Jackie has seen her students earn multiple overalls, special awards, and scholarships.
As a dancer, Jackie is a versatile performer known for her passion, energy, and athleticism. She has had the opportunity to perform works by several notable choreographers including: Jiří Kylián, Merce Cunningham, Jennifer Backhaus, Dale A. Merrill, Sean Greene, and Vanessa Voskuil. Furthermore, Jackie has had the privilege of performing with Backhaus Dance (Orange County, CA), Shield Wall Dance Company (Los Angeles, CA), and in the American Dance Festival’s 80th anniversary Footprints Concert (Durham, NC). While in California, Jackie was also the director and choreographer of her own Orange County-based company, Jackie Dew & Dancers, which received the grand prize choreography award at the 5th annual APA Dance Festival. Currently, Jackie is a member of TDC Entertainment Inc., with whom she has had the opportunity to perform in events such as “Illuminite,” and the “Nu Skin Greater China Mega Incentive” awards gala.
